Patient Care - Emergency RoomExperts say that, in an emergency, it is critically important to get to the closest hospital within 20 minutes. Fortunately for our region, Copley is strategically located 20 minutes or less from nearly all of the communities we serve.Copley Hospital's Emergency Department named 2008 EMS Hospital of the Year.
Copley’s emergency team cares for over 12,000 patients each year, (that’s 33 every day!) treating heart attacks, broken bones, accident victims, and much, much more. Each patient has his or her own unique needs and each receives individualized care to meet those needs.
Emergency care is a highly specialized discipline with extraordinary demands. Our physicians are board certified in emergency medicine, and although it’s not a state requirement, our nurses must obtain ongoing training in Advanced Cardiac Live Support (ACLS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). In addition, many of our nurses are Certified Emergency Nurses and are active volunteers on our local emergency rescue squads.
We have coordinated transport teams that stand ready to meet any critical needs. We can stabilize your condition and move you to an advanced facility in a timely and caring fashion, using a variety of transportation methods including ambulance and air transport.
